INTL 262 - Finding Place - Im/Migrant and Refugee Youth Schooling Experiences in Athens, Greece

(Same as EDUC 262) Vassar students travel with two professors to Athens, Greece to visit schools and help collect data for a current research project that explores the following two questions:

How do teachers organize their curricula to meet the needs of im/migrant and refugee students in Greece in public schools and in partnership with NGOs?
How do these students make meaning of their schooling experiences within public government schools and also through their work with NGOs?
How do these programs foster and/or hinder a sense of well-being and belonging for these youth that are experiencing trauma from war, displacement and dispossession?

The class visits schools and NGOs as well as cultural sites in Athens. Maria Hantzopoulos.
