INTL 262 - Finding Place - Im/Migrant and Refugee Youth Schooling Experiences in Athens, Greece Semester Offered: Spring 1 unit(s) (Same as EDUC 262 ) Vassar students travel with two professors to Athens, Greece to visit schools and help collect data for a current research project that explores the following two questions:
- How do teachers organize their curricula to meet the needs of im/migrant and refugee students in Greece in public schools and in partnership with NGOs?
- How do these students make meaning of their schooling experiences within public government schools and also through their work with NGOs?
- How do these programs foster and/or hinder a sense of well-being and belonging for these youth that are experiencing trauma from war, displacement and dispossession?
The class visits schools and NGOs as well as cultural sites in Athens. Maria Hantzopoulos.
