ANTH 229 - Skeletal Anatomy: Humans and Animals

0.5 unit(s)
This six-week lecture course develops knowledge of human skeletal anatomy for both anthropologists and biologists. The skeletal anatomy of select non-human mammals provides context for demonstrating the functional morphology of each bone. At the end of this course, students are able to identify individual bones (complete and fragmentary), identify bone landmarks, describe normal and abnormal bone growth processes (including common mutations), and assess bones for signs of pathology at the macroscopic level.

Both first and second six-week course.

Two 75-minute periods.

Not offered in 2025/26.

Course Format: CLS
