AMST 286 - Theorizing Asian America

(Same as PHIL 286 )  This class investigates philosophical, social and psychoanalytic currents in Asian American thought. Through close encounters with writers like Anne Anlin Cheng, Chandra Mohanty, Gaiutra Bahadur, Lisa Lowe, David Eng, and Grace Cho, among others, we ask about the ways that Asian American subjects are formed, how this is connected with questions of gender, labor migration, globalization, imperialism, and coloniality.
